Highlight Research Cinnamaldehyde for shrimp Dynamics of Vibrio and the correlation with health status Green yellow bacteria in water, intestine, hepatopancreas decrease number green Abstract Disease can cause mortality high economic losses caused by Vibriosis group. One alternative is using cinnamaldehyde which function as an anti-microbial inhibit production toxins released microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate administration on dynamics Pacific white fed cinnamaldehyde-containing feed. used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted 4 treatments 3 replications consisting treatment K, A, B, C mean feeding without cinnamaldehyde, containing dose 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2% respectively. Parameters included total (green Vibrio) hepatopancreas, well immune responses parameters, including hemocyte count (THC), respiratory burst (RB), phenol-oxidase (PO). All data were tabulated Microsoft Excel 2016 all statistical analysis was conducted SPSS v.22.0 software one-way ANOVA followed Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT (P=0.05). The results showed that influences shrimp. At beginning at end administration, are mostly found hepatopancreas. reduce both intestine shown B. also affected higher percentage B compared control (K). highest THC RB produced A K. increased colonization correlated responses. best this C.

Growth response and tail-muscle fatty acid quality of Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone) fed with diets containing different levels of rice protein concentrate

The effect of five isonitrogenous diets (36.6% protein), formulated by replacing 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% of fish meal (FM) with rice protein concentrate (RPC), was investigated on the growth and tail-muscle fatty acid (FA) quality of juvenile Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. The feeds were fed to shrimp (initial weight of 6.99 ± 0.08 g) five times daily to apparent satiation for 60 d...

Evaluation of antibacterial activity of Pseudomonas species isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei Boone, 1931) against pathogenic Vibrio spp.

In this research antibacterial activity of Pseudomonas isolates derived from hepatopancreas of Litopenaeus vannamei were evaluated against pathogenic Vibrio spp. Shrimp samples collected from 9 different ponds in Tiab region- Hormozgan province. Hepatopancreas samples of collected shrimps were inoculated in three different isolation media. Pseudomonas Isolation Agar medium revealed highest yiel...

Lysozyme gene expression by hemocytes of Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, after injection with Vibrio.

The purpose of this study was to quantify the gene expression of lysozyme, an important antibacterial protein produced by shrimp hemocytes, within tissues of Litopenaeus vannamei Boone in response to a pathogen challenge. We quantified lysozyme transcripts with a real-time PCR method and used these data, along with total hemocyte counts, to infer patterns of hemocyte trafficking during the immu...

Localization and bacteriostasis of Vibrio introduced into the Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei.

Although numerous mechanisms of immune defense have been described in crustaceans, the tissue distribution and fate of live bacteria introduced into the host remain unclear. In the present study, Litopenaeus vannamei were injected with a sub-lethal dose of kanamycin-resistant Vibrio campbellii expressing green fluorescent protein. Accumulation of intact bacteria was quantified by real-time PCR,...
